To perform “surgical” technician duties.  Assisting with draping and the utilization of instruments for a particular surgery.  Basic knowledge of sterile technique and sterilization procedures.  Embodies the Memorial Health System Performance Excellence Standards of Safety, Courtesy, Quality, and Efficiency that support our mission, vision and values.

Education:

• High-school graduate diploma. Anatomy and Physiology class preferred
• A graduate operating-room technician or previous experience as an OR Technician.

Licensure/Certification/Registry:

• CPR certification required, or obtained during nursing team onboarding process.

1. Performs duties in a capacity of “surgical” technician as prescribed by hospital policies and procedures.
2. Assists in the orderly functioning of the Surgery Department.
3. Performs appropriate intra-operative techniques to assist physician.
4. Pursues educational opportunities to maintain and expand personal and professional goals.
5. Actively participates in competency assessment process.
6. Performs other job related duties as assigned.
