Job Description Summary:
WEEKEND ONLY RN: This fulltime day shift weekend only position is eligible to receive an additional Weekend Only premium pay. *** Up to $20,000 sign on bonus*** Make a critical difference in a fast-paced Level 1 Trauma Center. As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department at Springfield Memorial Hospital, you’ll play a vital role in providing life-saving care for pediatric and adult patients. Work alongside a highly skilled team in a dynamic environment where every second counts. What You’ll Do: - Deliver expert emergency nursing care, quickly assessing and stabilizing critically ill or injured patients. - Perform rapid interventions, including administering medications, IV fluids and life-saving treatments. - Work closely with trauma teams, physicians and specialists to coordinate urgent and complex care. - Monitor patient conditions, responding decisively to changes in status. - Communicate effectively with patients and families, offering support, education and reassurance in high-stress situations. - Thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment where adaptability and quick thinking are essential. Education, Licensures & Certifications: - Graduate of an accredited nursing program - Active RN license in Illinois required - Current BLS/CPR certification required Experience: - Emergency nursing, trauma or critical care experience preferred - Strong ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Key Responsibilities: - Assess, stabilize and manage patients experiencing acute medical conditions. - Administer medications, IV therapies and emergency treatments as directed. - Assist with trauma response, resuscitation and critical care procedures. - Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and interventions. - Participate in emergency drills, continuing education and hospital-wide quality initiatives. - Ensure compliance with emergency protocols, infection control measures and hospital policies. - Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide seamless, patient-centered care. Additional compensation in the form(s) of participation in our annual incentive program are dependent on role.
